Roxette star Marie Fredriksson dies aged 61 after a 17-year battle with brain cancer
The Swedish star achieved global success in the 1990s with hits like Joyride, The Look and It Must Have Been Love, from the film Pretty Woman
A statement said the singer had died on Monday, 9 December "following a 17-year long battle with cancer".
Roxette had their international breakthrough in 1989, finding themselves on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. The duo were responsible for power ballads 'Listen To Your Heart' and 'It Must Have Been Love'.
the funeral will take place in silence with only Marie's closest family present.
